There is an ancient description of the temple carved into its walls by the builders. Below is a translation of the part describing the Pronaos and courtyard. (Cubits are used as the measurement system. One cubit is length of a man's forearm - about 45 cm or 18 inches)

“The Pronaos is 40 cubits by 36 cubits and 30 cubits high. It is most perfectly carved with reliefs. There are 18 perfect columns that support the horizon (the ceiling), just as the sky is supported under Khepri (Winged Scarab).
The Courtyard, which is in front of the Pronaos is broader than the Pronaos on the one side and the other. It measures 90 cubits from south to north by 80 cubits from west to east, corresponding to the inner measurement of the wall that surrounds all this.
There are 32 columns around it and they make a corridor that resembles this Nest of the Falcon. The courtyard is called the place in which Apophis is Defeated - he is the Enemy of Harakhte. (Horus of the Horizon in the form of light) and is the perfect palace of Nut (goddess of the sky). Its walls are properly decorated in accord with what has been found in the ancient writings.”
