Newsletter 47 The Nefertiti HackNewsletter 47 The Nefertiti Hack – Two German artists, Nora Al-Badri and Jan Nikolai Nelles, secretly made a 3D scan of Nefertiti‘s head at the in the Neues Museum in Berlin. It’s the most precise scan ever made public of the original bust of Nefertiti. They used a Microsoft Kinect to capture the 3D data without being noticed – see video below.
 
The artists then released a high resolution download to make it freely available to the world.

  1. Interesting in view of this latest foray into Tut’s tomb. Surely with todays technology two smal l holes to receive fibre optic lights and a third to take a camera is all that is required to penetrate the wall?
