Description
This is an accurate 3D reconstruction of the Edfu Pylon at the Temple of Horus from my own detailed drawings and photographs made on site. It’s a view from inside the first court looking up at the pylon, which depicts scenes of Pharaoh worshiping the god Horus and the goddess Hathor.
Horus was worshiped at Edfu for 3000 years.
The temple we see today was begun on 23 August 237 BC, during the reign of Ptolemy III Euergetes and completed 200 years later in 57 BC under Ptolemy XII Auletes.
